EMDR Therapy Intensives
What is an EMDR Therapy Intensive?
An EMDR therapy intensive is a larger block of time dedicated to working on a therapeutic goal in one sitting. Therapy intensives are different from the traditional therapy session in that there is a dedicated time set aside to focus specifically on mental health or relationship goals.
Sometimes the traditional 50 min appointments once a week don’t work for all schedules. Some individuals benefit more from a block of time being set aside where they can focus specifically on the healing process without the interruptions of the clock, life events, etc. EMDR intensives follow all 8 phases of EMDR, and the intensives incorporate both attachment theory and somatic therapy interventions.
